What we do

AJS at the first time has been involved in infrastructure development like community building, education building, health building, vocational training building and old age Home building etc with friendship cooperation of some kind hearted donors, well-wishers, corporate sectors and govt sectors since 1973 to 2011-12 for the welfare of rural people. AJS works in 5 sectors of rural development- 1) Education, 2) Health, 3) Culture, 4) Social and 5) Environment.

Where we work

AJS started work from Amoragori village. Now, it has been included the vast area under Amta I & II block of Howrah SAM_2338district and Khanakul I & II block of Hooghly district in West Bengal. The vast area that is near about 60 kms far from Kolkata city and 13 kms far from Amta Railway station.

At least 75% of people of these areas are involved in agriculture and allied jobs. Most of women do all house hold works and rear domesticated beneficial animals & birds for additional income. Every year people loss ready crop due to terrible flood and summer cyclone condition in the area. The remote areas where the govt. facilities do not exist or reach regularly to the people our AJS works directly thereto.

How AJS works

AJS realizes that it is not possible to change the rural area in a short time. We also understand that it takes long time to change and so that normally we intend to receive any support from the donors for several years for a significant development of people.

AJS gives emphasis to human resources and financial resources mobilization, management and utilization through people’s participation, cooperation and networking. AJS makes linkage between NGOs, Clubs, CBOs and individuals for sustainability of the work.
.
AJS seeks progressive people who are able to transfer their oppression & negligence into a driving force for a complete change in life. AJS’s task is to help those neglected people reach their goals of development with dignity, justice and security.
